Retailing makes products and services available on a relatively large scale and supplying them to customers on a relatively small scale. The word "Retail" originates from a French-Italian word ‘Retailer’ meaning someone who cuts off or sheds a small piece from something.
It is the final step in the distribution of these goods and services. Today the retail industry is greatly affected by technological advances, demographic shifts and changing perceptions in the U.S. and globally.
